Not every concrete problem means a full replacement. When a driveway, patio, or walkway is structurally sound but worn, cracked, or scaling, we can repair and resurface it for a fraction of the cost of tearing it out — and protect it from getting worse in our freeze-thaw climate.

If the concrete is fundamentally sound and the problem is surface scaling, hairline-to-moderate cracks, or a bit of settling, then crack repair, resurfacing, slab leveling, and sealing can extend its life by years for a fraction of replacement cost. If the base under it has failed, the soil movement is severe, or the slab is broken up and heaving, a tear-out and repour on a properly prepared base is the better long-term value — patching a slab whose foundation is gone just buys a little time. Often, yes — where a slab has settled on shifting or poorly compacted soil but is otherwise sound and unbroken, leveling can lift it back into place and restore the surface without a full replacement, which is faster and less expensive than tearing it out. The key is why it sank: if it’s a one-time settling, leveling and sealing the joints solves it; if the ground underneath has genuinely failed or keeps moving, we’ll recommend rebuilding the base and repouring so it doesn’t just sink again in a year.
